2008 Season Updates

12/08

Power Performance Engineering Powered Qatar team driver  Jay Price dominates the Abu Dhabi race with a spectacular win and wins the  UIM F1 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP!

Jay also won the shoot out by .46 seconds.

 

11/08

Naples Florida

Power Performance Engineering Powered Terry Rinker Wins the 2008 F1 Champboat championship

for the 4th time since 2003.

Terry Rinker takes first position in every qualifying shoot out of the season.

10/08

Shenzen China

Jay Price continues his dominance of the UIM F1 world championship by taking 2nd position in the final 1.77 seconds back despite having no trim for the last 30 laps extending the lead in the world championship.

 

Luizhou China

Power Peformance Engineering Powered Jay Price wins the UIM F1 race in Luizhou China for the Qatar team.

Jay Price was the fastest boat on the water every time except the top 6 shoot out and extends his world

championship lead to 30 points with 3 races remaining.

 

Rookie Qatar driver Yousef Al-Khulaifi came home in a great 6 position extending the lead for Qatar in the UIM team

Championship also.

 

9/2008

Donnie McDowell Wins the Apr Superleague F2 SST120 championship.

9/2008 

Terry Rinker wins the APBA National Mod U championship, Jim Summers comes home 2nd in SST120 Nationals

 

8/2008 

Terry Rinker takes over the F1 Champboat points lead.

Terry Rinker wins ST Louis F1 Champboat race for the 3rd time in 5 years after blistering the field in qualifying

Jay Price maintains the UIM F1 World championship lead

 

6/2008 

Qatar team driver Jay Price finished an impressive 2nd place after starting in 18th position and challenging for the lead behind Guido Cappellini in Finland.

Terry Rinker continues winning every pole position of the season and has a streak on podiums.

 

 

5/2008

Qatar Team driver Jay Price wins the F1 Grand Prix of Portugal by an amazing 16 seconds and now leads the

F1 UIM World championship.

Terry Rinker turns the fastest lap in qualifying but retires from the race with battery problem while in the lead in the F1 Champboat race in Tennessee.

 

3/2008;  DOHA Qatar  F1 team driver Jay Price finished a very close second in Qatar making several attempts at the race lead in the first race 

of the year.     

 

2007 Season Updates

 

12/2007:SHARJAH:Qatar F1 team driver Jay Price finished a strong 2nd in United Arab Emirates

Sharjah race, finishing 2.4 seconds behind Sami Selio.

 

11/2007 SAVANNAH Terry Rinker dominated, taking home 1st place, leading wire to wire.

DOHA Qatar F1 team driver Jay Price qualified 4th for the Qatar F1 RACE 1 and

moved up to 2nd before retiring with a boat electrical problem from a crash the previous day.

DOHA Qatar F1 team driver Jay Price qualified 5th for the Qatar F1 RACE 2 and finished 5th

 

10/2007 JASPER: Michael Dixon won the ODBA Unlimited class World Championship by going undefeated.

 

09/2007 WINDSOR Terry Rinker ran a strong 2nd and crossed the finish line 0.2 seconds behind Tim Seebold.

 

08/2007 ST LOUIS: Terry Rinker lead most the last half of the race only to be held up by lap

traffic - he crossed the line in 2nd but was penalized for a questionable

driving infraction and moved to 4th.

 

WARSAW Wyatt Nelson #39 was seriously injured in a blow over - Terry Rinker

captured the win and dedicated the race win to his fellow Power Performance driver.

 

Yuzo Okawa was tragically killed in a race in Japan

Yuzo was a great racer and died doing what he loved.

Yuzo raced in the Champboat series in 2006 and was a multiple time Japan F1 Champion, RIP Yuzo.

 


 

7/30/07:  Donnie McDowell & Jim Summers had a great weekend in Sault Ste. Marie.  The drivers finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively, in SST-120.

6/24/07:  Terry Rinker sets the fastest lap in Champ for the 2nd time this year at Bay City.

6/17/07:  Jim Summers takes home his first victory in SST-120 at the APR race in Peoria.

06/2008 

Power Performance Engineering's Kim and Brendan Power welcome into the world a beautiful baby girl.

5/21/07:  Terry Rinker and Bill Rucker take the pole in Champ and SST-120.  Both drivers finished 3rd in their respective class.

4/23/07:  Michael Dixon starts his season off right, taking home the win in the Unlimited class, at the ODBA season opener in Chattahoochee, FL.

 

2006 Season Updates

12/1/06:  Terry Rinker has been inducted into the APBA Hall of Champions!  Another spectacular accomplishment, following a record-breaking season.

11/6/06:  Terry Rinker wins Savannah and the ChampBoat Championship!!  This was a 7th straight, record-breaking win for Terry & the team.  Congratulations to everyone who has been part of the successful season with Blackhawk Racing.  This is also back-to-back championships for Terry, who was crowned champion in 2003, 2005 & 2006.

10/16/06:  Congratulations to Andy Driver who won Lake Racer in Jasper, TN and takes home the ODBA high points championship.  In Pro Fuel, Michael Dixon placed 3rd overall in Jasper and also takes home the ODBA high points championship.

9/24/06:  Terry Rinker makes it 6 for 6 by taking home the Champ boat win in Hartford, CT!  This victory extends the all-time winning streak to 6 consecutive wins.  Finishing 2nd and pushing Terry to the end was Wyatt Nelson.  This is Wyatt’s 2nd podium of the season.  These drivers qualified 1st & 2nd, respectively, and finished the same in the 50-lap final.  Congratulations to both drivers!!

9/11/06:  ODBA driver Michael Dixon takes home top honors in Wetumpka, AL.  Michael placed 1st in both Unlimited and Pro Fuel.

9/6/06:  The streak continues…Terry Rinker goes 5 for 5 taking home the Champ Boat National Championship.  And for the 3rd consecutive year, Wyatt Nelson takes home the MOD U National Championship.  Congratulations to both drivers!

Terry Rinker wins in St. Louis!!  So far in 2006 he is 4 for 4 and looking for more!  Congratulations to the Blackhawk team…on to Kankakee.

2006 Season Update:

Terry Rinker has been unstoppable in Champ!  In the first 3 races this season (Bay City, Cincinnati & Minneapolis) he has been the fastest qualifier and has won all 3 races!  The team is looking forward to continuing this success in St. Louis.

Andy Driver, ODBA driver, has been very successful this season.  In Chattahoochee & Wetumpka he took home top honors in the Lake Racer class and was 2nd in Plymouth.

Mike Dixon, another ODBA driver, has also had many top performances. In the Pro Fuel class, he has taken home 1st place in Wetumpka, Kingston, Demopolis & Plymouth.  He has also been successful in the Unlimited class, winning in Wetumpka & Demopolis and placing 2nd in Kingston & Plymouth.

Vince Voisin dusted off his boat to run the SST-120 World Championship in Trenton, MI and made a successful return, taking home 1st place and more importantly, the title of World Champion.

Brian Normand, Champ driver, made his first podium in Cincinnati, with a 2nd place finish.  And fellow Champ driver Wyatt Nelson, also made the podium, placing 3rd in Bay City.

We are pleased to announce that Japanese driver Yuzo Okawa is racing in the Champ series at most of the venues in 2006.  So far, he has been impressive and finished in the top 10 at all 3 Champ races.  Look for Yuzo in Kankakee and Savannah later this season.

9/5/05:

Terry Rinker and the Blackhawk Race Team takes home the 2005 Champ Boat Championship!  After a spectacular start to the season winning the first 3 of 4 races and struggling in the final 3 races, the team was able to persevere and reclaim their title from 2003.  Congratulations to Terry and the entire team on a great season.

9/3/05:

Congratulations to Wyatt Nelson, the 2005 MOD U National Champion!  Wyatt claims this title for the second consecutive year.

7/18/05:

Terry Rinker and Bill Rucker both had a great weekend finishing second in Champ and SST-120, respectively.  Congratulations to both teams on a strong performance at a new race site.

7/4/05: 

Congratulations to Terry Rinker who dominated the Champ Boat class in Pittsburgh, bringing home his 3rd win of the season.  Wyatt Nelson joined him on the podium, finishing 2nd.  What a spectacular performance by both drivers!

6/27/05:

Bill Rucker takes the checkered flag in Bay City, MI for the second straight year in SST-120!  The PPE sponsored driver started on the pole and lead all 30 laps.  Vince Voisin finished 3rd in SST-120, his first podium appearance of the year.  In the Champ class, Terry Rinker had another strong race, finishing second, only ½ boat-length behind class winner Tim Seebold. 

6/10/05:

Terry Rinker posted back-to-back wins, taking home top honors in Champ at Sault Ste. Marie!  Wyatt Nelson also made his first podium appearance of the year, finishing 3rd.  In SST-120, Bill Rucker finished a solid 4th.  Congratulations to all drivers!

5/31/05:

The first race of the season proved to be a strong one for PPE drivers.  Terry Rinker took home 1st place in his new Lee hull in the Champ class.  In SST-120, JR Saffold finished 1st with his engine fresh from the shop and defending champion Bill Rucker finished 3rd in a 29 boat field.  Congratulations to all three drivers on a very strong performance.

 

Champ Boat Series 2004 Season Update 

9/7/04:

Power Performance drivers had a spectacular weekend in Kankakee.  Congratulations to Wyatt Nelson and team for a successful weekend - Wyatt is the 2004 MOD U National Champion, Champ Boat National Champion, & MOD U World Champion!!! 

Congratulations to Vince Voisin and team on another winning weekend.  Vince takes home top honors in the SST-120 class, making him the 2004 SST-120 National & World Champion!

8/31/04:

PPE sponsored Bill Rucker takes 2nd in St. Louis and 3rd in Windsor to clinch the 2004 SST-120 Champ Boat series championship!  Also, congratulations to Vince Voisin and the Victory Race Group on their win at Windsor in the SST-120 class.  In the Champ class, Terry Rinker breaks his 4th place streak by taking 3rd in Windsor.  Congratulations to all PPE powered drivers and good luck in Kankakee & San Diego.

8/16/04: 

Congratulations to Wyatt Nelson and Lynn Simburger, placing 2nd and 3rd respectively, at the first Toledo River Roar.  This is the first Champ Boat Series podium for both drivers.

7/26/04:

Congratulations to Vince Voisin and the Victory Race Team on winning the SST-120 UIM World Championship!  Vince’s Seebold hull was power by a Power Performance engine.                       

06/30/04:

Bill Rucker wins Bay City!  The PPE sponsored driver started on the pole and never looked back.  This win combined with his 2nd place finish in Sault Ste. Marie has made Bill the current points leader for the SST-120 Champ series.

06/07/04:

Power Performance sponsored Bill Rucker finished a strong 3rd in SST-120.  And after some preliminary complications, The Advocate’s Max Toler finished 3rd, while Terry Rinker of Rinker Boat’s finished 4th in the Champ Boat class.

Champ Boat Series 2003 Season Update 

San Diego, CA

Terry Rinker, powered by PPE, wins the Champ Boat Series championship and takes 3rd in the season closer.  Rinker finished on the podium every race except Windsor, Colorado where he finished 6th.

 

Windsor, CO

Bill Rucker takes home his first win in the SST-120 class.  He also claimed 2nd place in the overall championship.  Terry Rinker captured the pole with a lap time of 31.46 seconds.  The Advocate’s Max Toler was 2nd with a time of 31.47 seconds.  Max also finished 2nd in the 50 lap final.

 

St. Louis, MO

Terry Rinker posts back-to-back wins in Champ taking top honors at the St. Louis Grand Prix.  He continues to dominate the point race.  Bill Rucker’s 3rd place finish in SST-120 has moved him into 2nd place in overall points.

 

Bay City, MI: 

Terry Rinker of Rinker Boats wins Bay City, Michigan, powered by a Power Performance Engineering Mercury V6.  Rinker started 2nd on the dock, took an immediate lead and never looked back.  Rinker is the current Champ Boat point’s leader after 3 races.

 

New Roades, LA: 

Bill Rucker’s SST-120 ran strong all weekend, qualifying 3rd and finishing 2nd overall.

 

Tampico, Mexico: 

Australian Gold sponsored Todd Beckman takes the pole in the first Champ Boat race of the season.  A Power Performance Engineering Mercury V6 powered Todd’s Seebold hull to a new Mexican outboard powerboat speed record at 131.953 mph.
